Update on Grover Willcox

To All Our Loved Ones, We praise God for he has heard your prayers and Dad has improved considerably. Today his mouth is almost back to normal, his speech is discernable and he's identifying people as they enter his hospital room.
The doctor identified 2 clots (forehead and left side) and has Dad on blood thinners. Monday the therapist will come to assist Dad so he can leave the hospital but until then he remains bedridden and on IV drip.
We are very thankful that his improvement today is most likely an indication of full recovery. Thank God but also keep Dad & Mom in your prayers. Thank you all, Grover A

"A note from the family of Grover Willcox in Uganda"
Friday, October 15, 2004 5:22 PM

To All Our Loved Ones,
Today Dad (Grover, senior) suffered a stroke. The initial manifestations left him with slurred speech, facial distortion and unable to walk. At present, midnight Uganda time, he is in the International Hospital in Kampala where he'll get quality care. He's receiving IV drugs and tomorrow the doctors will be able to ascertain his condition much better.
In the meantime -- all of us want you to lift him up to our Lord in prayer. God is the one who numbers our days and has had Dad in the palm of His hand for many decades. The Word also says, "the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man (or woman) availeth much" so just pray. We will send further updates as soon as we're possible. Blessings to you all, Grover A

An update on our brother in Christ, Geoff Jones

Hi Everyone,

Geoff has been moved to hopefully his LAST facility before he comes home. Hartwyck in Edison. The visiting hours are pretty much the same, the room is smaller. Geoff is trying to acclamate himself to his new surroundingstrying to get to know the new nurses, etc

One prayer concern I have right now is that this facility is motivated to help Geoff get back to his regular routine, going back to work, playing guitar, etc. Theres such a fine line between sub-acute facility and nursing home. Even though Geof is in the Brain Trauma Extended Recovery Unit, I want them to always remember that hes not staying. One thing I can say is that Geoff is actually much better off than some of the patients Ive seen so far.

A few other matters to pray for:

1) His right foot isnt completely healed yet, please continue to pray for total healing

2) Geoff still has the trach tube because hes coughing up secretions, please pray complete clearing of the lungs so that tube can be removed.

3) Pray that Geoff continues to tolerate the small amount of pureed food that eating during therapy. If so, then they will take out his feeding tube and he can start eating more real food.

4) Probably whats almost as important as any of these is that his vocal chords need to become much stronger so we can hear him better, so he can tell us whats wrong, whats right, what-ever.

Geoff and I cant thank all of you enough for your constant support and encouragement. Love you Lots!

Blessings

A note to Gateway from Tyamba's mom:

"Just wanted to drop you a line to thank you and your organization once again for your prayers. As Tyamba remains missing, the pain for me has intensified.

I have been in touch with KISS FM online Sunday morning program with Bob Slade. They were broadcasting a program with Bill Cosby regarding violence. I got through and they offered to help. Hopefully, I can gain more attention to the issue not just for Tyamba's sake but for the sake of others whose children may be contemplating running away.

I will remain in touch with you. I am forever greatful for all that you do."

From our CPA, Cathy Horling:

WOULD YOU PLEASE PRAY FOR A FRIEND'S MOTHER, MRS. MEARA? SHE ONLY HAS ONE
KIDNEY, WHICH IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY, AND IT IS ALSO AFFECTING HER
HEART. THE DOCTORS HAVEN'T GIVEN HER MUCH HOPE, BUT THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE IN
THE LORD, THE GREAT HEALER. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS, CATHY
