Thank you to all who called and emailed concerning our recent request
(see bottom of this email).

To date, eleven individuals have contributed $540.00 to this young lady.

A note of thanks from the FBI:
‘I just wanted to say thank you again for your generosity. It is truly appreciated and is so very helpful. And thank you for taking the time to stop by the office! Take care, Alexis’ - Monday, May 24, 2010

A visit to the FBI - Newark
: We dropped off another $190 in gift cards to Alexis, the agent helping this young lady. The teen victim was very grateful for the help given by all who made a donation. The FBI was able to secure emergency housing for her. Alexis noted that frequently there is an immediate housing need. Once or twice a month a victim is located and help is needed late into the night.

{Please pray for a group home that may assist pregnancy victims of crimes. This is an urgent need that often isn't mentioned in plans to set up group homes for pregnant teens}

A visit to Gateway – Irvington:
Alexis and Kenny (two agents from the FBI field office in Newark) came to Gateway - Irvington @ 11:00am this morning. We gave them a $350 TD bank gift card, New Testaments, personal items for the new mom, along with a Jesus tape, a CD and some baby booties.

They were very grateful for our help. The young lady is indeed a victim of human trafficking. She is four months along in pregnancy.

{For further information on human trafficking, scroll to the bottom of this email.}

We recalled Alexis later in the day. She stated that she went with the girl (age 18) to the Jersey Gardens Mall. The young lady was very grateful for everything received. Later in the day we received additional donations (which were sent to Alexis for this young lady. Praise the Lord!

Thank you to all who prayed and all who gave. We will post a story in our next newsletter.

Because of the FBI's involvement, no photos of were taken of Alexis and Kenny (the two agents) when they came to our office.

Original request:
On Wed, May 19, 2010 at 11:38 AM, Dean wrote: Gateway and the FBI need your help! We received a call from Alexis at the F.B.I. field office in Newark, NJ requesting help for a victim .

The victim is a woman in her early 20's, four months along in her pregnancy.
She is in urgent need of maternity clothes. Gateway has not offered maternity wear for many years because most of our clients are teens who rarely have use of them (They like wearing T-shirts, sweats, etc).

This young lady needs size medium to large (including sweats).
Her height and weight are unknown The FBI agent is meeting with her tomorrow (Thursday May 20th). The items are needed by Friday morning at the latest.

1) Would you have any medium-large maternity items?

2) Would you or someone you know be willing to make a donation designated for this urgent need? (the easiest method due to the time constraint).

Gateway would then advance the amount, purchase the items and get them to the FBI agent. If you have items, please call me at 973-399-8378 or respond to this email; if you can make a tax deductible donation, please let me know the amount.

This is yet another great opportunity for a Christian witness.
Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance!
Dean
